Inter Milan To Make Sensational Move For Lionel Messi?

Barcelona Transfers: Inter Milan To Make Sensational Move For Lionel Messi?!
Inter Milan are reportedly targeting a shock move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi, according to Tuttosport , following comments made by Pirelli CEO (and Inter fan) Marco Tronchetti Provera.
Suning, the Italian side's owners, allegedly want a huge signing "to rival Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus" and the Argentine is apparently the name they are hoping for.
Provera suggested that once Financial Fair Play settles, Inter could make their ambitions clear, reiterating:-
"Messi? How can you say no to Messi?"
Following Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Juventus earlier this month, something which the Portuguese icon justified as a "challenge", there has been speculation that Messi may wish to prove himself outside of Spain as he reaches the tail end of his career.
Inter Milan, a sleeping giant over previous years, are now back in the Champions League this season and are tipped to be serious contenders for Juve's stranglehold over the Italian league. That Inter are being linked to a player of Messi's calibre reiterates the transformation they've gone through.
Of course, this is pure speculation. Provera is simply a rich fan reaching for the stars, and Barcelona, having lost Neymar to PSG last summer, would need a gargantuan sum to even contemplate letting their prize asset leave. Furthermore, the 31-year-old signed a new contract with the club until the end of the 2020-21 season, complete with a whopping £626 million buyout clause.
Nevertheless, with Ronaldo and Messi seemingly in a never-ending battle to prove who is the greatest of all time, it's not necessarily too far-fetched to suggest a showdown in Serie A is completely out of the question.

Transfer: Antonio Conte gets new job after Chelsea sack

Transfer: Antonio Conte gets new job after Chelsea sack

A former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has held talks with AC Milan and will be replacing current manager, Gennaro Gattuso “within hours.”

Conte finally left Chelsea after a long stand-off with the club’s board over his £9million pay-off, and is believed to be preparing legal action over the nature of his exit.
Chelsea’s decision to sack Conte may not have cost them as much as they initially feared, with multiple reports in Italy claiming that the Italian is in talks with AC Milan.

Leonardo is also expected to replace Massimiliano Mirabelli as AC Milan Sporting Director.
The club has already made contact with Conte who has given his absolute approval to the move.
Naples Radio reports that Conte’s move could be completed “within hours”, though the Italian is believed to have asked for time to resolve his situation with Chelsea.

What Jonathan told political godfathers ahead of 2019 polls

- Nigeria's immediate past president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has cautioned political godfathers to refrain from imposing candidate against popular choice
- Jonathan said that elections should be contested and won without violence, adding that it is not a do or die affair
- He also commended the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, for insisting on a level-playground for primaries across the country
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has called on politicians not to yield to any form of negative influence by godfathers.
He also urged political godfathers to yield to people’s yearning in preparation for 2019, and advised them to steer clear of anti-party activities. Jonathan gave the advice when he received Senator Philip Gyunka, who visited him in Abuja on Tuesday, July 24, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
He said that though there was nothing wrong with having godfathers, but they should not be clogs in the wheel of progress. “I have no problem with the issue of godfathers because as a Christian, if you are taking a child for baptism, there is this concept of godfather or godmother.
“These are people that are supposed to help mentor the children and give advice from time to time. Godfather should not be used negatively. For example, if you come from a community that participates actively in wrestling with neighbouring communities and you know your son cannot wrestle, you cannot send him.
“Even in politics, if you have a son or anybody and you know the person cannot lead the party to victory, and you are sending the person because you are hoping for something, then you do not like the party. If you like the party you, will ask your son to work with the person that you believe can win elections.
“We lost most of these elections because of this issue of imposition of people that are not acceptable to the public,” he said. Jonathan also said that sacrificing competence and efficiency on the altar of interest was counterproductive.
“I have not gone for elections outside Africa but at least, before leaving office I went round to observe election in a number of countries. Politics is like war. I am not saying people should carry guns and knives, but to struggle to win election. People must have that kind of personal interest.
“We need to send canditates that the people appreciate, personswhom they believe in to bring development to their state so that even if it means sleeping there they will stay there and do the work.
“I commend the National Chairman of our party, Uche Secondus, because he has been emphasising that this time, primaries must be on level-playing ground so that whoever emerges, others will support the person,’’ he said.
The former president expressed optimism that party faithful in the states would work together to present candidates that would win elections. I am pleased to see you also getting interested in the Nasarawa State governorship race. I believe you will do well. We need the person that can advance the course of the state.
“I am hopeful that this time, PDP members in Nasarawa State will come together. When people do not work together they cannot achieve much. Primaries must be done in a way that there are no grievances. If you lose gallantly you will have no problem but if you are manipulated out of the process, you will be angry,” he said.
Jonathan pointed out that Nasarawa state was critical not just in terms of arable land and abundant mineral deposits but in view of its closeness to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He said: “As we approach elections some of us who had the privilege of being at the centre for eight years have a reasonable idea of the country.
“Nasarawa state being catchment state to FCT is always very critical to the government. When you have religious turbulence in the state it affects Abuja directly. Nasarawa state is covered by the Brigade of Guards, meaning it is considered as almost a part of FCT. So, it is a state that we really need good people to govern.
“We will continue to do what we can to help the process.’’ On solid minerals in Nasarawa, Jonathan said: “A friend of mine had discussion with some groups of persons and they were asking what he knew was bringing money to Nigerians not in terms of spread but volume.
“They said it was not crude but solid mineral. He mentioned a particular mineral and said people make more money from it than those in the oil industry. Unfortunately some of these areas have not been really mapped out so we do not even know what we have.
“You see some Asian miners come to mine and from the information we get even when I was a president, the ministry has not been able to factor what is happening. What these people take out we do not even know.
While commending the present government for encouraging governors to tap into mineral deposits in their states, Jonathan urged the governors to take the plunge. Jonathan said: "Now that even the government is looking at encouraging states to check their mineral resources, I believe it will be more efficient.
“This is because no governor would be there while we are looking for money for development and allow people to come and take things without you knowing. Earlier, Gyunka had commended the former president for always promoting peace and unity in the country."
He said that it was the style of leadership and penchant for competence that endeared him to the former president, adding that, it was second to none. Some of us believe in your leadership and we will like to have you as our mentor.
“Godfather syndrome has killed this country. It has deprived so many talented youths from being where they ought to be. There are several instances where young peoples’ dream and talents die because they are not from rich homes and same is playing out in our polity as people without godfathers do not achieve their dreams in politics.
“God created us all with specific assignments but many dreams and assignments have died because of godfathers. For me, you are the kind of man that any Nigerian that wants to succeed would want to have as a mentor.
“I believe strongly that if anyone under your tutelage holds public office, there will be peace because you are a man of peace. I have come to meet you as my mentor, to put me through on how you were able to succeed carrying out your assignment,” he said.
The lawmaker said Nigeria needed good leaders, adding that it was only good leaders that would deliver the country from its present challenges.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the International Republican Institute (IRI) and National Democratic Institute (NDI) had called for the establishment of an electoral offences and political parties registration commission ahead of the 2019 elections.
A member of the joint group also known as Delegation, Terry Tselane, made the call at a news briefing on the 2019 general elections on Friday, July 20, in Abuja

Meet the Richest Woman in China, a Mysterious Real Estate Mogul Who Made Her First Billions at 26

She made $2 billion in just four days earlier this year.
PAUL SCHRODT July 23rd, 2018
ang Huiyan has racked up a lot of firsts.
The Chinese controlling shareholder of Country Garden Holdings Co., the nation’s largest real estate developer by sales, is currently the 35th richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. The
36-year-old is also China’s richest woman and its youngest billionaire. Her net worth is estimated to be $22.3 billion.
But she’s no newcomer to Asia’s most powerful and wealthy moguls. Yang Huiyan was actually the richest person in China in 2007 at only 26 after her firm started trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, when she suddenly became worth $16 billion. She’s a rare example in her home country, which has enjoyed a massive economic boom over the last generation, of someone who inherited their billions. Her father Yeung Kwok Keung, who co-founded Country Garden in 1992 and goes by his Cantonese name, transferred his stake in the company to her in 2005, grooming her to takeover. His intention has been to “train Yang Huiyan as the successor of his family’s interest” in the group, Country Garden said in a statement of its initial public offering. Yang now owns 57% of Country Garden.
More from Money
That fortune is perhaps why the newspaper
China Daily announced her marriage by telling readers, “Sorry, bachelors.” Yang is press-shy, and little information is out there about her personal life, including her husband, who’s reportedly the son of a top Chinese official. The two apparently met on a blind date. What’s also known: She’s a graduate of Ohio State University and has a younger sister, Yang Ziying, who also sits on the Country Garden board.
Yang has interests beyond real estate. She also
chairs Bright Scholar Education Holdings, the largest operator of international and bilingual K-12 schools in China, which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007.
Yang’s father—another figure flying under the public radar—hasn’t entirely left Country Garden in her hands. He’s still the company’s chairman and chief executive, while she’s vice chairman. He worked as a farmer and on construction sites before building his empire, according to Chinese media.
But she’s profiting quite nicely as a result of the gradual handoff. Yang was in the news again in January, when a surge in Country Garden’s stock increased her wealth by an astounding $2.1 billion—all in four days of trading. Not a bad payday for less than a week of work.
China’s developers have generally enjoyed a recent boom in its property market. Yang is No. 4 among Chinese billionaires on Bloomberg’s
index, just behind Hui Ka Yan (worth $27.4 billion), 59, the chairman and largest shareholder of China Evergrande Group, which has built more than 500 projects in 180 Chinese cities. But Yang has plenty of time to catch up.

Trump blames Obama for Russian meddling in U.S. electi

U.S. President, Donald Trump, has again blamed former President, Barack Obama, for “not doing something” about alleged Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election, while he was still president.
Mr Trump, in a tweet, also described the alleged election meddling as a hoax, saying it was the reason Obama did not act.
He said Mr Obama thought the Democratic presidential candidate and arch-rival, Hillary Clinton, was going to win.
Mr Trump tweeted: “So President Obama knew about Russia before the Election. Why didn’t he do something about it?
“Why didn’t he tell our campaign? Because it is all a big hoax, that’s why, and he thought Crooked Hillary was going to win!!!’’
The president took a swipe at the whole Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) warrant application, released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against Carter Page, a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser.
Mr Trump described Page’s FISA documents as a scam, “which led to the rigged Mueller Witch Hunt!’’.
Alleged Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, in which mr Trump won by electoral college but lost to Mrs Clinton by almost two million popular votes, led to the set-up of the special panel headed by Robert Mueller.
The FBI on Saturday released a redacted version of the warrant application on Page, marking the first public disclosure of a highly sensitive FISA request.
Mr Trump said that the FISA documents “confirm with little doubt’’ that the Justice Department and the FBI “misled the courts”.
Mr Trump went on to allege that his campaign was potentially being “illegally” surveyed for “`the political gain of Crooked Hillary Clinton and the DNC’’ (Democratic National Congress).
“Looking more and more like the Trump Campaign for President was illegally being spied upon (surveillance) for the political gain of Crooked Hillary Clinton and the DNC.
“Ask her how that worked out – she did better with Crazy Bernie. Republicans must get tough now. An illegal Scam!’’ Trump tweeted.
The U.S. leader bragged about having “a great meeting” with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, but blamed the media, which he described as “fake news” for trying to disparage the meeting.
“I had a great meeting with Putin and the fake news used every bit of their energy to try and disparage it. So bad for our country!’’ Trump tweeted.

2019: Why I met Buhari at Presidential Villa – Kwankwaso

2019: Why I met Buhari at Presidential Villa – Kwankwaso

A former Governor of Kano State and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has revealed why he met the party leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari Monday night.
Senator Kwankwaso met the President behind closed door at the Presidential Villa on Monday.
President Buhari and the Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee, NWC, of the party have been consulting with some of the aggrieved members of the party.
The former Governor spoke with State House Correspondent after the meeting yesterday. He said, “I thank God.
“Some of my friends, my former colleagues came to me and we discussed. And now we have the opportunity to see the President to continue discussions.
“We’ll keep on talking. Politics is a game of discussions. Agreement and disagreement and we are still on.”

Chioma's Family At War With Davido's Family For Making Her DropOut Of School For Full Time Housewife

Love, they say, is beautiful and it couldn’t have been more beautiful for Chioma Roland, Davido’s girlfriend as she has had solid ‘Assurance’ that her romance with the singer would soon be sealed in nuptial bliss. The media was agog last week with the news of Davido proposing to her and the latter accepting the proposal. But there’s a snag somewhere as Chioma’s family aren’t too charmed about the development and their reason is as valid as any family’s in the matter.
According to a reliable source, Chioma’s father, who is a devout Seventh Day Adventist is not particularly pleased that his daughter has not been serious with her studies. Vanguard Ripples’ has it on good authority that the love struck girl who gained admission into Babcock University (a Seventh Day Adventist school) to read economics in 2012 is yet to graduate, when she should have completed the course since 2016. Chioma, once skipped a whole session because she was travellling around with Davido and had to defer her studies. For months now, she has not been attending classes. I can’t even remember the last time she was in school. The last thing I heard from her friends in school is that she’s not interested in coming back to Babcock.
She’s travelled out of the country again and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back. A friend confessed to me that she told her she’s not coming back to Babcock, said a source who wouldn’t want her name in print. It was further gathered that her father has had a strict talk with her that she must finish school before embarking on any marriage plans.
The devout Seventh Day Adventist parents are said to be pained about their child treating her celebrated love affair with the superstar singer as top priority over her education. It is public knowledge that Chioma and Davido are already living like they are married. Wherever there’s Davido, Chioma is sure to be there. For a woman who had a Porsche car gift on her birthday and a song in her name ruling the airwaves, the fantasy that comes with it may just be too much for her to handle, family or not.
