Senate President Bukola Saraki is currently at the national assembly hours after his convoy was intercepted by the police, sources have told TheCable.
The police had blocked the convoy of the senate president from leaving the street where his residence is located at Maitama District, Abuja.
After that the incident, the whereabouts of Saraki appeared to be unknown.
“All lines of the senate president are unreachable,” an aide had told TheCable upon inquiry.
Also, speaking on Politcal Platform, a RayPower radio programme, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki’s special adviser on media, said he saw his principal in the early hours of Tuesday but he does not know his present location.
But sources told TheCable that the senate president had left his Maitama residence as early as 5am.
On Monday, Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police (IGP), summoned Saraki over the robbery incident that took place in Offa, Kwara state, in April.
Idris said there was need for the senate president to appear at the office of intelligence response team to make further statement on the incident.
But Saraki responded saying that the invitation is politically motivated.
The incident led to the death of over 20 people including police officers dead as five commercial banks were robbed.
