World Press Conference: I’ll quit as senate president if… – Saraki

World Press Conference: I’ll quit as senate president if… – Saraki
Senate President Bukola Saraki has said he would quit his position if he lost support of fellow senators.
He stated this while addressing a live world press conference at the National Assembly in Abuja.
Saraki said the leadership of the National Assembly was willing to quit whenever they no longer enjoyed the support of member lawmakers
“This is not about us. This is about the rule of law,” he said. “We will leave the day we no longer enjoy the support of the members.”
He condemned the siege laid by the security operatives of the Department of State Services on the National Assembly on Wednesday, saying it’s “an assault on democracy.”
Saraki had led Principal Officers of the National Assembly to the conference
